Take me out to the ball game....

Yep its that time again BASEBALL season...when 3 nights out of 7 are devoted to baseball:) Land and Port were really excited to be playing this year. This is Porter's first year and Landen's third.  Ty is coaching Landen's team again this year, but he never misses an opportunity to help Porter's. Hope you enjoy ALL the pics!!!
Dad:"Okay son you see him he's going to hit the ball and you are going to run"
Port: "Run....really you want me to run? Well were will I run to?"
Dad: "Just run that way"
Port: "So I am going to run and you are going to stay right here"
Port "Hmmm this doesn't seem fare, but I guess I will run"
Port: "Run run run run run...I've got to run...run fast run fast come on legs I've to to run fast"
So the coach would have them line up all nice before the other team would hit the ball...but as soon as the ball was hit this would happen...

It was every kid for themselves out there. It was pretty funny to watch, but hopefully after they have practiced a little it won't be so crazy:)
Landen played first base the first inning and got 2 outs. He has been working really hard at catching the ball. He was really excited when the ball was thrown to him and he caught it for the out:)
Getting some warm-up swings in

The pitcher was super cute!
Landen got a great base hit!
After the boys games were over Hattie was sad that it wasn't her turn for her game.  No worries we solved this problem with letting her hit the ball a couple of times and Ty chasing her around the bases with the ball trying to tag her.

Look whose 5

Enjoying his Birthday Breakfast in bed. Porter wanted sausage and pancakes...He also wanted to eat it in Landen's bed. Smart kid! He didn't want syrup in his bed:) This year Porter got to have his first Birthday Party. We asked who he wanted to invite and he only wanted 4 friends to come. That made things sooo easy! Porter requested an Angry Birds Birthday so here are few pictures from his Birthday.
I did a little Internet shopping and found these cute plush Angry Birds for super cheap. So each of his friends got their own Angry Bird and they also got a sheet of Angry Bird stickers and 2 pouches of Angry Bird fruit snacks. We also invited his 4 friends families to stay. So each of their siblings got a little gift also.

So did you know that our Country has a helium shortage? I sure didn't. When I went to get balloons they had signs saying all they could do was Balloon bouquets with just air. Porter was really excited for this awesome centerpiece. It may look small, but we had our leaf in our table. IT WAS HUGE!
This was our awesome Angry Bird Pig pinata. We spent a few days and made it ourselves. The kiddos thought it was great to make and even better to destroy:)

Port's great cake. We ended up buying the Angry Birds Knock on Wood game to decorate the top of the game.
Blowing out his first candle of the day:)
Yes!! WE all get to eat Breakfast in bed.
PRESENTS!!
He was pretty excited to get more LEGOs.
I think he was even more excited to get a new pair of shoes. He really wanted a new pair of shoes...Isn't that pretty sad? I promise his other shoes weren't that bad:) He loved his new pair of Nikes.
Prefect Shirt for the most Awesome 5 year old!
Cute Hattie:0)
So for Ports Party he wanted to have Pizza for lunch so of course we did:)
From Left to Right
Cecilia, Malachi (Port invited both of them)Edward, Landen, Brindee, Hattie, Benson (Port Invited) Merrick, Makayla, Paisley, and Porter. Ryder (Porter invited) is missing in the picture
On of the games we played was a life size angry birds game. They had so much fun playing it.

After we finished this game we had a phone call from Grandpa and Grandma Barker. We thought it would be fun to Skype with them. So they were able to watch from the window while we broke the pinata and then we came in and did presents and cake...unfortunately I forgot to multi-task and take pictures while I was sitting and moving the computer and talking with them. I did get some on the video camera.
All in all it was great Birthday and our Birthday BOY was so happy and excited!!

Big Chickens

The Monday before school got out we were invited to a Dinner Theater put on by Landen's 1st Grade class. We were to bring a picnic style dinner with us. Landen choose Jimmy John Sandwiches and nobody complained about that:0)
A group of about 5 students put on a little play. Landen's play was from the Book Big Chickens. He was Chicken number 4. He remembered all of his lines and did an awesome job. My cheeks hurt from smiling so big while he was performing.
Landen is the last one on the left if you couldn't tell

This is the whole class at the end of the performances. It was so much fun and they put a lot of work into the plays. They designed the backgrounds, props, and masks they wore. Landen passed first grade with flying colors and he is already looking forward to going to second. We are so proud of him and all the hard work he puts into school!
