Halloween 2010

We had a lot of fun this Halloween. Landen was SO excited to be able to go. He kept asking if it was time yet. Landen dressed up as Iron Man, Porter was his side kick War Machine. Hattie was a beautiful Love Bug and Paisley was a cute flower. It is fun as the kids are getting older to see them so excited.
Trick-or-Treating at Grandma and Grandpa Barkers house
Hattie checking out all the candy she got.
Paisley all cozy and ready to roll.

Carvin' Pumpkins

So the pictures are backwards oh well at least there are some new posts right! So as you can tell we carved some pumpkins the kids had a blast getting all the guts out and then being able to carve!
Kenzi wanted a flower, Landen wanted a Dracula one, Hattie had a ghost, and Porter wanted one with a scary smile. Here is how they all turned out.

Everyone hard at work.
Playing with the air guns at Lyle Dabbs stand. The boys thought these things were great.

Porter found the perfect pumpkin.

Paisley's Baby Blessing

We were so lucky to make a quick trip to Utah to give Paisley a name and a Blessing. This is a picture with Paisley's Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Barker. Paisley's middle name is ReNae after her Great Grandma Barker. We sure hope she turns out just like her!

Hattie turned 2 (2 months ago:)

So Hattie's Birthday started with the untraditional Breakfast at the table. We usually eat breakfast in bed, but she insisted to sit at the table. We didn't fight it, it meant I didn't have to wash syrup out of the sheets.
Hattie got a great gift on her birthday she got her cast off! This picture is of the boys and Hattie making Hattie's birthday cake. The boys thought she needed a princess cake so they made her a crown cake.
Hattie got spoiled for her birthday. Here she is sporting her new purse with a puppy inside.
She also got a new pair of cowgirls boots which she LOVED!

The cake decorators getting ready to eat the cake! Hattie had a great birthday!! We love her and can't wait to see what other adventures are in store for this little girl! (Or maybe we can she has already had stitches and a broken arm all before she was 2 maybe she will slow down now!)

Happy 6th Birthday Landen!

Yep thats right my oldest baby turned 6 on the 7th of September! Since I just had a baby we let Landen chose a friend to take minature golfing and out to dinner. Of course he chose Hunter so off golfing we went! Landen Hattie Porter and Hunter ready to do some serious golfing!
Hunter and Landen trying to figure their game plan out.
A broken arm won't stop this girl from having fun!
Porter taking a swing
After we finished golfing we asked Landen where he wanted to go for dinner and he wanted to go to Chuckie Cheese so we headed there and the kids had a blast!
So Landen wanted a rainbow trout cake and well this is what we came up with. He wanted rainbow chip frosting and cake so it was a little tricky, but it was delicious!
Sporting his new bike!

Opening up some more presents. He had a great birthday and we are truly blessed that he is apart of our family! We LOVE our Lando!

A Sunday Treat!

t
Growing up every Sunday we would go to my Grandparents house and my Grandma always had a delicious home made treat for us. Well since we have moved away we have tried to keep up the tradition of treats on Sunday. Hattie helped me in the kitchen and we whipped up some delicious chocolate chip cookies. When Paisely was born my parents and Grandparents came out. My Grandma made this cute apron for Hattie the boys also have their own aprons each with their own initial on it!

Learning to Ride a Bike

Ty helping Landen ride a bike without training wheels. He did pretty good for it being his first time, but we decided he needed a bigger bike.
Porter taking a shot at it. This bike was the perfect size for him and he did pretty good.
Hattie enjoying the shade. She didn't get to ride the bike around because well its the same bike that got her the nice splint on her arm.

Paisley enjoying the shade. It won't be long until she's wanting to ride the bike to.

Our Little Topcat

Ty's commander gave this blanket to us when we had Paisley. Does this mean she can go to work with Ty now? I sure hope so!

Really...

We have decided that when Hattie does something she goes big. She gets the job done. Most the time this is a great thing, but for the things she chooses not so much. Example...we spent that last two weeks before Paisley came to re-do the girls room (pictures to come when complete). We put a baby gate in the door way since we were re-painting the entire room. Well the first day that we finally take the gate down Hattie goes into the closet and starts saying blue, blue, blue...oh nooooooooo! She found the only pencil left in the whole room and drew all over the nicely painted closet walls. Oh she is a funny girl.
Well her latest trick was trying to prove to us that even though we ask her not to try to ride the bike because she's not big enough to reach the peddles, that she can in fact ride the bike. Well this didn't work out so good for her. She got onto the bike and started rolling down our slopped driveway onto the slopped grass hill and crashed at the bottom and this is what ended up happening.
Yep that's right she BROKE her arm. And the go big or go home thing...she managed to break both bones in her forearm and she did it so well the E.R. wouldn't cast her they told us we had to have a orthopedic specialist look at it, place it, and cast it. So she did all this last night. We all went to the E.R. with her because in the moment I wasn't thinking that we have a 6 day old baby, but by the time we got to the hospital I realized I should have just stayed home with the baby and boys. Luckily we had called Jana to meet us there to take the boys and she ended up taking us all home. Ty stayed with Hattie and took care of things. I am so glad he was home and is going to be home for a few more days. He had to take her this afternoon to meet with the specialist and she is going to have to go tomorrow to Creighton to have it placed and casted. We almost made it a whole week with 4 kids without incident, but our little dare devil took care of that.
Oh and you ask how she is doing well...when she came home last night she kept bumping into my leg on purpose with her arm and saying ow and today she climbed right back onto the bike and thought she was ready to go again. I think we might be in trouble around here.

Our Crazy Girl

Last night when we were putting the kids to bed I had to laugh and of course grab the camera!
This is how we found Hattie! She found Porter's hat put it on and grabbed her shopping cart and threw it right in bed with her. She fell asleep with her shopping cart and hat. She really is something else!

Since I grabbed the camera and took a picture of Hattie of course I had to take a picture with the boys. Hattie jumped right into the picture and repositioned her hat!

Oh what are we going to do with this girl?

38 Weeks

So...I am not one to even want to put pictures of myself on our blog, but because we live far away and everyone keeps requesting pregnant belly pictures here it is! (I know Maghann I am doing the weird pregnant lady pose with my hands, but really what else is there to do with them?)
My doctor is going to induce me on the 25th of August if I haven't had her by then (which is 4 days early) So there is in end in sight and I only have 10 days left:) We are so excited to meet our new addition to our family!

7 years and counting!

Yesterday, August 14th Ty and I celebrated our 7 year Anniversary!! It is so crazy to think we've already been married for 7 years. I would have never thought that so many things in our lives would have happened it those 7 years.
We never thought when we first got married we would ever move out of Utah, but I guess when you decide to join the military that would happen.
We've lived in 7 different houses.
We've lived in Utah, California, and Nebraska.
I have been pregnant for 3 of our anniversaries.
The craziest thing is we are about to have our 4th kid.
I am amazed and so grateful for the way our life has turned out. We definitly didn't think all this would happen when we first got married, but we wouldn't change a thing! We have definitly seen the Lord's hand in all the adventures we have been through and we are truly blessed!

For our Anniversary we went to a nice cool movie theater (it really is a necessity for me to be in air conditioned place. Nebraska is just to hot and humid to be outside:) We went and saw Incepetion. It was a different movie, but it must have been okay because I stayed awake the whole time which is a real challenge for me. Then we went to Outback Steak house. This wouldn't have been our first choice, but the day before at work Ty won a gift certificate there. So we couldn't pass up a free quiet meal!
I can't wait to see where the next 7 years take us!

Back to School Night

I can't believe I have an kiddo old enough to be going to Kindergarten. I have mixed emotions about sending him out there into this scary world, but he is ready and so excited to be able to go to school. Thursday night was back to school night. Landen wasn't feeling so well so we made a very quick trip over to the school so we could find out who his teacher was and see where his classroom is.
Landen finding his name on the class list.

This is his classroom at Wake Robin Elementary and he is standing next to his desk.
Good Luck Lando!!! We know you are going to do amazing things!!

Omaha Children's Museum

I have been a neglectful mom lately (my only excuse is that I am 38 weeks pregnant and tired), so I thought we needed to do something fun before Lando started Kindergarten. It has been so HOT lately that I knew we needed to do something inside so Mom wouldn't get moody, so we headed to the Omaha Children's Museum. We have only been there 2 other times, so the kids thought it was an awesome idea. In fact the night before I told them if they cleaned their play room all up without anyone whining or complaining we would go. I have never seen kids clean up so fast! We invited the Bigelow's along and we had a blast!
My future shopper! She loved putting things in her cart and pushing it around.

Hunter and Landen going for a spin on the carosuel.

Porter, Jackson, Landen, and Hunter busting some serious moves on the Clifford stage. It was so funny watching them all dance. If I could figure out how in the world to download the video I would, but I am not that smart when it comes to computers!
We had so much fun we ended up buying a membership so we can go all year long. So if anyone is up to going give us a call!
