C is for Cabin

Friday night we headed back up to the cabin to get a head start on our "C" day. While we were driving we noticed a big rain cloud over the Uintah Mountains. No biggy for us, but for my parents in front of us in their Jeep with only a bikini top on it, it was going to be a little wet for them. We stopped in Evanston and had some dinner and tried to wait for the storm to move, but it just started heading towards Evanston so we decided to leave. It was pretty rainy, but they said as long as they were going fast it didn't get in. The best part about the rain was the rainbows. We saw one that we could see from end to end. Sorry no pictures we didn't want to get wet and I have already broke one camera due to water. (Oh that's a story in its self. Maybe the next post) We got up to cabin around 8:30 and unloaded our stuff and got right back into the Jeep and went critter watching. (We got into our Jeep that has a roof so we didn't get wet) We didn't see anything. We came back to the cabin made some s'mores over the stove and went to bed. So what did we do on Saturday? Well here are the pictures....
Porter on the porch of the Cabin.
Grandpa and Hattie enjoying the fire Saturday morning.
Landen warming up around the fire with a cup of Hot Chocolate.
We went for a drive Saturday morning up to Whitney Reservoir. We stopped to throw some rocks in and then continued on our critter drive. There was a ton of people up there because of the holiday weekend.
The wildflowers were amazing up there. With all the rain the forest is so green and lush still.

This is the only Moose we saw.

While we were driving we went off to a side road. There was a small river we had to cross. We came to a small river we had to cross. My Mom asked my Dad if he thought he should look and see how deep it was, but he looked at her and started to cross it. The next thing you know there was water coming over the hood and my dad got the funniest look on his face like oh no this could be bad. Well we made it through it and the Jeep is doing just fine. We thought we would be able to see some really cool animals or something, but these sheep were the only things we found. Oh well the kids thought they were pretty cool.
Hattie nothing else needs to be said
Ready aim

Fire. This boy loves guns and walking around with no shoes. Oh his poor dirty feet. Oh well its not worth the fight.

Landen shooting the BB gun.
Looking to see what he hit. He was aiming for a cup. He had so much fun shooting the BB gun. He was pretty sad when the BBs ran out.
To say the least we had a really fun time at the cabin again. We really love this place and it is so fun to do things with my kids that I did when I was little.
GOOD TIMES!!
